Spin the room while standing still
Leave the food but pay the bill
Pile of birdseed on the sill
Tell the crowd to fire at will
Watch the cars from far away
Light that slants across the bay
Hide the things you want to say
Live to fight another day
Every night sleep less and less
Always always second guess
Sweep the floor but leave the mess
Only in your mind confess
Find a place 'tween sea and sky
Watch the world go rolling by
Smile at children, bake a pie
Plans are born to go awry

This is absolutely beautiful, bucolic, slice-of-life writing, Justin. I'd love to hear this one set to music.
Great to hear your voice.
I like it...I too would like to hear it set to music.
How are you?
Hah! That's real life.
That's a beautiful poem. The sadness takes a long time to fade, but it does.
This is an absolutely beautiful poem. The simple truth in it struck quite a chord in me.

I'm so sorry about your father. It sounds like he and my father would have gotten along very well. I too remember sitting next to my dad while playing Ultima on the Apple II+ (and other similar memories).
Enjoy your coffee!
I'm glad I read this after your previous post. It sounds like you're doing okay. Love the poem!
RYC: Tell your wife to have a really nice walk outside. It's so much more enjoyable than a treadmill. I had one years ago, and felt like a hamster!!! Somehow the treadmill doesn't seem quite so purposeless...to me, anyway!
