  • NOT GOOD!

My stress level is going through the roof right now. On Saturday, Crista and I went downtown and visited a bunch of stores (including picking up my wedding ring). Somewhere during those hours, I managed to lose my folder of papers.

This particular folder (well, laminated manilla envelope) contained all the lyrics to every incomplete song I've been working on for 2 years. 35 or 40 songs, in various states of completion, plus the only complete master list of all the new songs.

I've called everywhere we went, but it hasn't turned up. Each negative answer drives my stress up closer to the roof. I'm still not quite frantically panicking, but I'm getting close. These papers are completely irreplaceable, and represent an absolutely vast amount of work over a long period of time. To lose them would be the worst "stuff" loss in many many years.

Anyhow, I have to go and get ready to go out. If I could, I'd go downtown now and search in person, but I have to go to a couple of meetings. I hate going to meetings when I'm preoccupied with having lost something important.

    Take care

  • *scratches head*  Damn, J.

The only thing that I can suggest is, if you get the chance and remember the sequence, backtrack EXACTLY the way you came and see if perhaps the song list was laid down somewheres in one of those stores that perhaps someone has not seen.

I hope that you are able to find all of them, in mint condition.   There's a piece of your soul in each of those, and to have lost them would be a gutpunch.

    Good luck and blessings,

    -Paul

  • Shit, J. I'm so sorry to here what you're going through.

    Visualisation!!! my friend *L*

Visualization, plus the strong belief that they will arrive in your safe hands again.

Works wonders for me at times!

    My thoughts are with you.

    Peace,

    Michelle

  • oh! and plus the effort thing as well... ~l~

  • Oh my goodness!  Unfortunately, I can honestly say that I know exactly how you are feeling.  Our house burned down in January and we lost everything ... which included over twenty years of my journals, poetry and stories.  It is such a devastating loss.

Just carefully backtrack, when you are able, and ask every single person you can about the folder.

You can't even imagine how much luck I wish you in finding your work.  But in the end, either way, you have to remember that YOU are still here and YOU can still create.

  • OMG! Hope you find it. Can you make signs? Offer a reward?  I'm sorry.

Thanks for sharing the wedding pictures. They are beautiful. Her dress was.....wow!

  • I hope you find that folder...To lose what you put so much effort into is a travesty. best of luck to you. If you don't find it...Well...You can always start anew and accumulate a new list of incomplete songs. I've done something similar before and its hearthbreaking to lose something you spent so much time on.

Best of luck to you on this and everything else,

    Shane
