  • A friend recently got back from a book release in Ireland, and while she was there, she also did some promotion for Ticklish Brother. She got us played and discussed on the radio, and this review in the Munster Express. Very fun. It's killing me not to be recording the 2nd CD before I leave for Korea. Part of me still hasn't completely abandoned the idea yet. But we shall see. Considering that we haven't heard from the recruiter in a week, it may be that we don't depart until later in the year.

Byron (who incidentally has been without an internet connection for several weeks, in case you were wondering where he was) has recently gotten another great job with the APTN (Aboriginal Peoples' Television Network), and will be working as a cameraman for a couple of weeks, during a touring shoot through Alberta and BC. Fun stuff. But maybe after that, there remains a slim slim possibility of a recording window...

I'll be going to Halifax at the beginning of August, to visit relatives and work on the family CD project. I'd like to get all the recordings for it collected on this trip, so that I can compile and edit it before we leave. It's a project close to my heart. I'll also be doing lots of busking (I hope) while I'm there. Performing solo is something I'm slowly getting more and more accustomed to, though it's still difficult to pick a repertoire for particular events. But maybe if I log a few hours on the waterfron, I can pay for a few CDs at one of the used music stores.

Anyhow, I'm gonna go and work on some songs. All the best to you all.

    Take care
    -Justin-

  • I hope you and Byron get the chance to record something before you head out.    Thanks for stopping by and laying some thoughts and props on wax, brother.    I laid out some thoughts of my own in response to your comment the other day-you should get them in your email soon.

Take care, and good luck.  Hope our paths cross again soon.

    Blessings always,

    -Paul

  • I hope you & the other half do have a chance to get together. Excellent news on the promotion in Ireland!
